Diagnosis
Marginal vein distorted and with a strong tuft of black setae medially; frontal suture missing close to eyes; dark species: frons infuscate to pale brown, vertex dark brown, mesoscutum predominantly or completely metallic bluish-green, scutellum predominantly or completely dark brown; fore wing with ten admarginal setae; FM/HM = 0.8.

Costa Rica.
Biology
From gall midge (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) “circle of craters” galls on Avicennia germinans (Verbenaceae).
